This two-part study programme involving some 29,400 patients overall, will
greatly broaden the knowledge gained in the landmark HOPE trial: it will assess the effects of a telmisartan-ramipril
combination (ONTARGET™) and also explore the efficacy of the ARB (angiotensin II receptor blocker) Micardis®
(telmisartan) in ACE-I intolerant patients (TRANSCEND).
