Stroke is a leading global health problem and predicted to grow. It is the second most common cause of death and major disability world-wide. Advances in medical and surgical management are accelerating at a rapid pace. We believe that stroke conferences are relevant for all - including neurologists, geriatricians, internists, physiatrists, radiologists, primary care physicians, surgeons, nurses, therapists and all stroke care givers. The goal of these conferences has been to bring together world-renown stroke experts to teach, explore and interact with a multi-disciplinary audience focused on improving stroke prevention, treatment and recovery. After the conference you’ll go home with more than a binder. You’ll have the tools and knowledge you need to enhance your stroke teams and ultimately work to reduce the incidence and impact of stroke in your communities.

The conferences featured many presentations highlighting the most recent advances in the basic sciences of cerebral circulation and brain function, clinical stroke research and outcomes, rehabilitation science, and surgery, as well as exhibitors showcasing the newest advancements in stroke products and services. Most presentations focused on current advances in the treatment and prevention of cerebrovascular disease and stroke. The conferences included symposia on adjuvant therapy to improve stroke outcomes, rehabilitation after stroke, imaging techniques for identification of high-risk carotid plaque, technical advances for management of intra- and extracranial occlusive disease, angiogenesis and cerebral injury, impact of the human genome project on stroke research, ongoing clinical trials, and several sessions designed for Allied Health professionals.
